As a 5-Start recruit and IMG Academy graduate, Tyler Booker has had some lofty expectations for his time at Alabama – all of which he has delivered on. The 6'5" true junior played a rotational role during his freshman season and since then has been entrenched as the starting LG for the Tide and has been one of the best in the country during that time. He received SEC All-Freshman honors in 2022, was named First-Team All-SEC in 2023, and was named captain of the Tide football team during this year.

Throughout his career, he has been extremely reliable in blocking efficiency, especially in pass protection. In just under 1,000 career pass-blocking opportunities, he has allowed 29 pressures with only two of those being sacks for a career 98.3 Pass Blocking Efficiency per PFF. Of those pressures, only a quarter of pressures and no sacks were from this most recent season, showing the continued growth and improvement from the upperclassmen.

Like any third-year play, Booker still has room to grow as he looks to turn his career to the pros. His penalty count has ballooned this year, something that will need to clean up if he is going to continue to become a top-tier guard at the next level. He also shows the need for improvement in run blocking with his technique and ability to move people diminishing as he gets into open space. All things that can be corrected, but do need to be addressed. Given his growth thus far, it seems foolish to bet against that.

Booker is the next up in a line of top guard prospects for the NFL draft. He carries a very high floor but also has the athletic, size, and strength potential to have an All-Pro caliber career. Booker's knowledge of the game and work ethic are going to get him extremely far in the NFL and give him a leg up against most young offensive linemen. What I think truly sets Booker apart is the mean streak that he carries and his desire to punch the opposing team in the teeth in the mouth. He looks to take the attack to the defender and that is a mentality that every top offensive lineman needs. It is what puts him at the top of my IOL rankings and gives him a shot at hearing his name called on day one of the NFL draft.
