2026 Draft Eligible Offensive Tackles - Early Top 5
Early preseason ranking for my top draft-eligible offensive tackles.
2026 NFL DRAFT

Newt Westen
After breaking down the skill players for the 2026 NFL Draft, we’re diving into the trenches with offensive tackles—a really good class loaded with absolute maulers. In my opinion, all of the players listed here have a phenomenal chance to continue playing tackle in the NFL and not have to kick in to guard. Starting with an honorable mention for Xavier Chaplin and counting down from No. 5 to No. 1, here are the best offensive tackles in the country.
Honorable Mention, Xavier Chaplin
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 338 lbs
School: Auburn (transferred from Virginia Tech)
Xavier Chaplin’s a lab-built beast with a massive frame for the 2026 draft. His phenomenal play strength and punishing run blocking, with a 72.7 PFF pass-blocking grade, make him a force in the trenches. His mental processing lags, though, getting him beat by stunts too often. If Chaplin sharpens his scheme awareness in 2025, he could be a solid NFL tackle with starter upside.
5. Spencer Fano
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 302 lbs
School: Utah
Spencer Fano’s a run-game wrecking ball who brings the pain for the 2026 draft. His quick feet let him fire off the snap, and his 93.6 PFF run-blocking grade shows his knack for displacing defenders. His slender build limits his anchor, though, making him vulnerable to power rushers. Fano’s play strength dominates in the trenches. If he adds bulk and boosts his pass protection in 2025, he could be a reliable NFL tackle.
4. Caleb Lomu
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 304 lbs
School: Utah
Caleb Lomu’s a smooth mover with slick athleticism for the 2026 draft. His stellar pass protection and 97.7% pass-blocking efficiency let him mirror defenders with ease, while his strong anchor holds firm against bull rushes. His hand placement can be wild, though, leading to missed punches and balance issues. Lomu’s light feet make him a tough matchup. If he tightens up his hand technique in 2025, he could be a versatile NFL tackle with big potential.
3. Kadyn Proctor
Height: 6’7”
Weight: 369 lbs
School: Alabama
Kadyn Proctor’s a mountain of a man with a monster frame for the 2026 draft. His demolishing run blocking and 97.2% pass-blocking efficiency make him a brick wall in pass protection, shutting down bull rushes with ease. His size hurts his agility, though, leaving him open to counter moves. Proctor’s raw power gives him a high ceiling. If he improves his balance and conditioning in 2025, he could be a dominant NFL tackle.
2. Francis Mauigoa
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 315 lbs
School: Miami (FL)
Francis Mauigoa’s a technical stud who locks down pass rushers for the 2026 draft. His amazing hand use and 98.1% pass-blocking efficiency keep defenders at bay, while his quick feet match speed rushers effortlessly. He dips his head when run blocking, though, throwing off his balance. Mauigoa’s polished technique makes him a standout. If he keeps his head up and boosts his run game in 2025, he could be an elite NFL tackle.
1. Caleb Tiernan
Height: 6’7½”
Weight: 320 lbs
School: Northwestern
Caleb Tiernan is the top dog in the 2026 offensive tackle class, a polished beast with a ceiling that’s out of sight. His stellar pass protection and 88.9 PFF pass-blocking grade make him a quarterback’s best friend, while his stellar build moves defenders in the run game with ease. He can get beat by pure speed rushers around the edge, though, needing a stronger punch. Tiernan’s high IQ and leverage make him a complete package. If he counters speed rushers better in 2025, he’s poised to be an NFL superstar tackle with day-one impact.
